Kenny’s primary focus is within residential and educational developments. He is renowned for his specialised knowledge in hydrology and drainage design, in particular, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) which aims to mimic the natural drainage processes, reduce flooding, and improve water quality in an environmentally-friendly manner. As an expert voice in the field, Kenny recently worked alongside United Utilities to develop the framework around the adoption of online SUDS systems.
In his spare time, Kenny volunteers to help run a local under-11’s football team. Anyone who knows him will also tell you that he is partial to a bit of karaoke!
Peter commenced his career as a trainee Civil & Structural Engineer at AJP in 1996 while concurrently pursuing his university education. Rising swiftly within the company, he assumed the role of Director in 2015. Por Tam joined AJP in September 2021 as a Principal Engineer, bringing over 30 years of expertise in civil and structural engineering. His illustrious career has included pivotal roles such as Lead Engineer for a plastic-to-fuel conversion facility in Teeside, Technical Manager overseeing the construction of a Shipyard built on reclaimed land off the shores of Qatar, and Design Engineer for a Sequential Batch Reactor Plant in Wellington Dock for United Utilites. Por’s versatility extends to building structural designs, with recent projects including schools in Blackburn and library refurbishments in Barnet.
His extensive experience and honed practical skills make Por an invaluable asset to the team, particularly in navigating the complexities of structural and civil aspects of projects. Now at AJP, Por lends his talent for pragmatic design to the Leisure and Commercial sector, leading the design team for the redevelopment of Bury and Radcliffe town centres.

Kate began her career in London in 2003 and has close to 20 years’ experience as a structural engineer, designing in all common materials, both for new builds and refurbishments. Her experience has had a focus on the fast-paced residential sector, and she has successfully led the structural design of a number of large-scale mixed-use developments, typically with the complex constraints that come with urban brownfield development. She made the move back to her hometown of Liverpool in 2022 and has enjoyed working back in the region, on a diverse range of projects including new-build schools, historic refurbishments of listed buildings, as well as housing and large-scale residential developments.
Kate has considerable experience leading structural and civil project teams, managing a project from start to finish. She enjoys working closely with the client and their design teams to deliver high quality economical solutions in the required timeframes, and is keen to ensure projects are delivered with consideration for environmental impact so will continually be looking to save materials throughout, as well as challenge design and construction considerations at the outset.

Lee subsequently joined the team at AJP and expanded his expertise across various sectors, including residential, leisure, commercial, and healthcare.

James played football for 18 years, representing both Airbus Broughton and his university team. After picking up a few too many injuries, he’s since swapped the pitch for the fairway—now spending most of his time either on the golf course or in the clubhouse bar, currently a member at Woolton Golf Club.
Earlier this year, James spent six months travelling across Asia, embracing new cultures and taking the opportunity to reset between university life and starting his career. Now back in the UK, he’s enjoying getting back into a routine—with a few races in the calendar to stay fit.
Mai joined the team at AJP in September 2025, following a successful summer placement with the company in 2024.
Prior to her time at AJP, Mai spent 12 months working alongside a team of senior site engineers, where she was involved in field operations and the management of asset condition data. Her placement culminated in a significant project where she led a team of 12 engineers, coordinating data collection across more than 100 sites. This experience not only strengthened her technical and organisational skills but also showcased her ability to lead and deliver under pressure.
At AJP, Mai has primarily contributed to healthcare and commercial sector projects. Her responsibilities have included supporting site surveys, preparing technical reports, and assisting in the analysis of design-related issues.
In addition to her technical contributions, Mai has also taken an active role in the development of social value initiatives. She has demonstrated creative communication skills through the use of storyboards and has played a key role in encouraging team engagement in community-focused tasks. She has also taken part in the business development aspect of AJP, attending networking events on behalf of the company and connecting her technical work with public value.
