Building Information Modeling (BIM).
As the first independent consultancy to reach Level II Building Information Management (BIM) status in the UK, AJP are pioneering digital capabilities in engineering and continually exceeding government targets. Setting the standard for integrated processes and pushing the boundaries of what software can achieve, AJP are proud to provide genuine cost benefits to our clients along with sustainable solutions as standard. Our early adoption of technology and investment in training elevates us to one of the most innovating practices in the region. BIM Awards
At the BIM Show Live annual award ceremony in 2020, Alan Johnston Partnership was recognised for our leading knowledge and pioneering software integration, being nominated for the Best BIM Training Programme award.
BIM Accreditation
In 2017, AJP became the first independent civil & structural consultancy to be awarded the BSI’s BIM Level 2 Kitemark, recognising the processes, procedures, capabilities, internal training and assessment scheme that had been accurately delivered.

AJP complete a considerable number of RSL Extracare and over 55’s developments each year, working for major contractors. As early adopters of innovative technology, AJP have adapted to changes in planning throughout the years, with shifted emphasis on biodiversity, water quality and a reduction of embodied carbon within design.
AJP have developed expertise in managing the environmental aspects of construction and its subsequent structural implications of a project; all our design comes with consideration of sustainability, ranging from the use of MMC recycled materials to the SuDS approach to drainage. We understand how simple tweaks in specifications can achieve significant reductions in our footprint, without impacting on quality or cost.
